Dr. Matthew Parker

Dr. Matthew ParkerDr. Matthew Parker was born and raised in Cincinnati. Upon graduation from Oak Hills High School, Dr. Parker attended Wabash College and the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In 1995, Dr. Parker received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Dr. Parker attended the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he was active in student research and received Dean’s list recognition. In 2000, Dr. Parker received his doctorate in dental surgery and accepted a residency position from the University of Alabama and the Birmingham Veteran’s Administration Hospital. While in Birmingham, Dr. Parker received extensive training in the surgical & non-surgical treatment of periodontal diseases, bone grafting, and dental implant placement. In 2003, Dr. Parker was awarded certificates in Periodontology from both the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the Birmingham Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

During the summer of 2003, Dr. Parker and his wife, Emily, reported to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island to serve in the U. S. Navy Dental Corps. While stationed at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor, Dr. Parker served as Head of the Department of Periodontology and Preventative Dentistry. Dr. Parker and his team were responsible for the periodontal care of 8,500 Sailors and Marines who frequently deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. For his efforts, Dr. Parker was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal at the conclusion of his tour of duty.

Dr. Parker operated private practices in Oak Harbor, Washington and Asheville, North Carolina before returning to Cincinnati to join Dr. Silverstein in practice. Dr. Parker has been practicing periodontics and implantology since 2003. He is licensed by the state of Ohio provide intravenous conscious sedation.

In 2003, Dr. Parker achieved board certification in Periodontology from the American Board of Periodontology. He is an active member of the American Board of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Ohio Academy of Periodontology, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Cincinnati Dental Society- where he serves as Treasurer and a Member of the Governing Council.

Dr. Parker and Emily welcomed Samuel Wyeth into their family in 2005 and Sofia Delaney in 2008. The Parkers are excited to return to Cincinnati to raise their family around countless family members and friends.
